BATTERY MANAGEMENT FOR LADY-COMP and BABY-COMP

While these devices are rechargeable, the internal battery has a limited life-span, (similar to a cell or cordless phone), that will vary in length based on numerous factors that impact the memory of the battery. If the memory of the battery becomes to depleted or over charged then the battery will be reduced in it\'s ability to effectively build and hold a charge and thus may require replacing.

How can you maximize the life-span of your internal battery? Here are some easy to follow tips:

Once at start up and ONLY FOR THE FIRST CHARGE - Load your battery for 24hrs. ( Some devices will display L00 through L10 as the battery loads for the first time.) L 10 indicates a full (10 out of 10) power level. When you see L10 or if the device has reached it\'s 24hr maximum loading time - unplug the device so that you do not over charge and damage the battery.

AFTER THE FIRST CHARGE
• The battery should be charged once every 4 weeks, usually on the first of every month for 6-8 hrs MAXIMUM! Charging it longer could hurt your battery performance
• It is recommend that the device NOT be plugged in continually as over charging will also reduce battery capacity
• If storing for a long period of time (during pregnancy), the device will need to be checked at least once every month and charged for at least 6-8 hours. If the device does not display a battery level, it should still be charged once a month. Other tell tale signs that indicate your battery is running low include, not being able to complete a temperature reading


If your Lady-Comp or Baby-Comp battery is no longer holding a charge after it has been plugged in for 6-8 hours, and you are certain that your plug / power adapter is not faulty then it may be time for a battery replacement. If you are in doubt about the operational quality of your plug please call us or alternately purchase a backup / new plug.

The battery is excluded from the warranty and thus the replacement of the battery must be paid for separately. Return shipping is included in the quoted price. Please verify that the battery in your device actually needs replacing BEFORE YOU SHIP THE DEVICE. To verify please contact our service staff at 519 941 7008. Upon verification our staff will send shipping instructions to you by e-mail including an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number. Please follow the e-mail instructions closely. If you wish to pay in advance for your battery replacement you may do so by completing and submitting an order here. We then ask that you include a copy of your purchase receipt with the shipment of your device.

BATTERY MANAGEMENT FOR PEARLY:

This device is not rechargeable and thus the battery has a maximum life of 12-24 months. Pearly has a battery level indicator that displays BA 09 through BA 00. This is a visual indicator of the power level remaining in your battery. We recommend only replacing your battery when it indicates BA02 or BA01.

BA 00 = Battery is dead and may result in loss of stored data
BA 01 = Battery is at 10% and should be replaced as soon as possible.
BA 05 = Battery is at 50%.
BA 09 = Battery is at 90%.

If the battery indicator mode is displayed automatically on your Pearly you can exit the mode and return to normal function by pressing and immediately releasing the minus (-) and plus (+) buttons at the same time on the pearly.

Shipping instructions including an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number will be e-mailed to you upon receipt of your order. Please follow the e-mail instructions closely. If your taking your Lady-comp or Baby-comp on an extend holiday over 2 weeks in length, then we recommend buying an additional insert for your adapter that matches the plug type for your destination country. We recommend taking your adapter and insert with you so that you can recharge your device while away. With our premier adapter series you don\'t need to buy another plug, just select the correct insert for your destination, exchange the prong insert and away you go. The premier adapter will do the rest and will convert any voltage to the 9v output you need for charging your device.
